...Since life is tragedy and the tragedy is perpetual struggle, without victory or the hope of victory, life is contradiction. (Miguel De Unamuno)

International Women’s day 2012

People should see that the most important things in life transcends genre stereotypes. Minerva Mirabal, my favorite historic heroine, is an example of this.

Congratulations to all the women who do not let society roles define who they are or who they are going to be.

Blessings to all of you in your life goals.

(Minerval Mirabal played a key role in the fall of the dictatorship of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo in Dominican Republic)

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

If only there could be an invention that bottled up a memory, like scent. And it never faded, and it never got stale. And then, when one wanted it, the bottle could be uncorked, and it would be like living the moment all over again.

Keeping Your Respect For Yourself

Guidelines:

  • BE FAIR

Be fair to yourself and to the other person.

  • NO APOLOGIES

Not overly apologetic behavior. No apologizing for being alive, for making a request at all. No apologies for having an opinion, for disagreeing.

  • STICK TO VALUES

Stick to your own values. Don’t sell your values or integrity, especially for reasons that aren’t very important. Be clear on what you believe is the moral or valued way of thinking and acting, and “stick” to your guts.

  • BE TRUTHFUL

Don’t lie, act helpless when you are not, or exaggerate. Don’t make up excuses.
